I got my hands on the M O C R A, the Modernization of Cosmetic Regulation Act, that went into effect December 29th, 2022. It has passed. It has been signed into law, and it is going to directly impact our pigments. There is verbiage in this bill that likens it to what’s going over on in.
And we need to do something about it now, right now is the awareness. I need you to share this post, or at least start having conversations with your fellow artists that we need to do something. And what do we need to do is we need to start sharing this information and getting our voices heard. We have an opportunity.
To come together and share with our federal government our interests. We need to have a seat at the table and discuss how we want to move forward with this, because it’s not going away, y’all. We can’t put our heads in the sand. We can’t ignore it. We can’t just get mad and shake our fists. We have to do something about this now.
No longer can we just forget about it. We gotta do something today in my bio. I have a discourse group. That’s a great place to start. Join that group. More information about your area. Let me share with you what we’re trying to do. We may be starting petitions. We need to write a letter. We need to come together with other organizations like the Alliance of Professional Tattooists and the Coalition of Tattoo Safety, and anyone else who’s willing to come together and start to fight for our interests.
Because if we don’t do it, who is, if we do not guide our industry, who will, if we do not create regulations for ourselves, they will be created for us. And right now, One just was created less than a month ago. Are we gonna stand by and let that happen? I’m not. Join my discourse group. Let’s join forces and work to unify the tattoo industry.
